Nutrition Session: Speaker- Tola Kolawole

Tola talked about 'Shopping on a Budget'. To look out for the best deals on offer you can still eat healthily on a budget. Tola gave the members a quiz to highlight the best ways to shop on a budget. Buying in bulk, collecting discount vouchers from the Sunday papers will save you money; store brands can be cheap and just as healthy as name brands. Remember to check the labels to help you decide, check online to compare supermarket prices, and check the sell by date on food. Foods can still be healthy even if it's reduced as long as it's within date.

Topic of discussion – Living Independently, Speaker - Denise Headley

Changes to Evergreen Walk in Centre are in consultation.

Denise said changes are already happening in Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, there are new retail shops emerging which will create employment, there are demographic changes and there is a consultation to build 15,000 new homes in the Lea Valley area for better living in the community.

Denise said members should speak to their Ward Councillors about the changes aimed at keeping the important services in the community.
